Requires 3 of Isaac's active item charges to open.

If Isaac does not have enough charges, the chest will take what is available, as indicated by the number of lights on it.

Timed-charge items will instantly open the chest.

An Engine Chest has a 2.22% chance of replacing any regular Chest after all other modded Chest chances have failed.

It can only replace a Chest if Isaac holds a valid active item that can be used to open it.

11%Item from the Engine Chest item pool.

• 36.36% → Lil' Battery.

• 22.73% → Storage Battery.
• 4.55% → Mega Battery.
• 4.55% → Golden Battery
10%Random trinket.
10%Random card.
2% Chest or Locked Chest.
In the Chest or Dark Room, the Engine Chest will always contain an item from the Treasure Room item pool, or 9 Volt if the pool is exhausted.
